The Foundations Level delivers all the material you need to build your practice of Shen-Hammer Pulse. Everything from how you sit comfortably to exacting finger pressure applied to the pulse depths. All pulse positions are introduced along with basic pulse quality interpretations for diagnosis.

At least 30 hours of Foundations classes must be completed before enrolling in Intermediate level classes. Students have the opportunity to closely observe teacher demonstrations, explore detailed diagrams, and receive personalized hands-on feedback with both the anatomical locations and palpatory sensations of the Pulse.

The Intermediate Course builds upon the Foundations with volunteers pulses and case histories. Taking a full pulse on volunteers provides access to all 25+ pulse positions and the exercise of sorting out sensations into the presenting qualities while identifying the stability of the pulse. Confidence builds by referencing the instructors pulse record for each volunteer while working through each position and asking questions. Every student can choose whether to look at the completed pulse record before or after filling out one themselves.

The Intermediate course hones diagnostic proficiency through practicing the pulse interpretation methodology with each volunteers pulse record. Before long, the thinking process becomes an ingrained part of clinical application.

At least 60 hours of Intermediate classes must be completed before enrolling in Advanced level classes.

The Advanced Course prepares you for mastery in Shen-Hammer Pulse diagnosis system and prepares you for teacher certification. The minimum required hours to complete the course are 114 hours.

Students are challenged to quickly navigate all 25+ Pulse positions with precision, document volunteers pulses with a high percentage of accuracy compared to the instructors pulse records, analyze full pulse records and present case discussions of volunteers pulses. Each class day is structured the same, but the content varies according to the pulse qualities present in each volunteer, so essentially, no two class days will ever be the same content. Classical and contemporary pulse qualities will appear in all of our volunteers. This material allows for an understanding of the body in the modern landscape through the frame work of Classical Chinese medicine diagnosis and treatment.

The Advanced course hones diagnostic proficiency, and prepares you to pass the Shen-Hammer Pulse system along to others while preserving the integrity of the lineage.
